RN New Graduate Program

You’ll thrive as a member of our RN New Graduate Cohort as you advance your skills and create lasting relationships with your preceptors and peers. YRMC’s RN New Graduate Program opens twice a year, summer and winter, and provides extensive training focused on high-quality, patient-centered care.
Some of the many areas welcoming new nurse graduates include:

  • Emergency Department
  • Labor and Delivery
  • ICU
  • Med/Surg/Telemetry
  • Multicare Unit

YRMC makes a substantial investment in your development through the RN New Graduate Program. If you are offered and accept employment in the Program, a retention agreement of 24 months from the start of the Program is required upon hire.

RN New Graduate Program at Yavapai Regional Medical Center

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program within 12 months of application period (cannot have more than 12 months of experience working as an RN in a clinical setting)
  • Successful completion of the NCLEX examination and RN license (Arizona or compact state) in process prior to start of program. RN license active no later than two weeks from program start date.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification prior to start of program
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (for critical care units) prior to successful completion of the RN New Graduate Program
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Basic computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Willingness to train on various shifts
  • Upon successful completion of the RN New Graduate Program, willingness to accept any open RN position for which you are qualified, regardless of shift or campus location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • General or skilled nursing experience, not to exceed six months
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Required materials to apply for the RN New Graduate Program:

  • Completed online application through the YRMC Career Center for a posted RN New Graduate position
  • Current résumé
  • Copy of unofficial nursing school transcripts
  • 500-word (+/-10%) essay explaining why you want to be a nurse and why you will be an excellent candidate for YRMC’s program
