Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator

Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by providing clinical pharmaceutical care to patients and serving as an expert, professional resource to service areas and Pharmacy Department. Provides daily operational leadership support to staff. Fills orders for parenteral and enteral medications, recommends and monitors patient drug therapies and provides drug information to assure continuity of services and to achieve desired patient outcomes through safe, timely, cost-effective medication therapy.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a minimum of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or a B.S. Pharmacy degree with comparable clinical experience
  • Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arizona
  • Three years of clinical pharmacy experience
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching as documented by student and/or resident evaluations and teaching awards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to perform work accurately within specified times
  • Ability to make presentations to large groups
  • Ability to evaluate medical literature
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Electronic medical record experience; Cerner strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification
  • Health-system experience
  • Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Residency Program
  • Previous experience as a preceptor in an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency program
