Director of Pharmacy

Our inpatient Pharmacy team is dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality and cost-effective services and is focused on providing safe and effective medications that complement YRMC's Total Healing Environment.

You will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, operation, fiscal performance and improvement of our medication management system, including all aspects of pharmacy operations and clinical services. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, physicians' prescribing habits, medication management systems and technology to deliver and support optimal patient care and achieve organizational success. You will also ensure that the Pharmacy meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements and complies with all applicable procedures, policies and standards of the organization, as well as provide executive leadership to the post-graduate pharmacy residency program.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD; may consider a Masters in Healthcare, Business or related field
  • Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arizona
  • Six years of health system experience with three years of experience in a management position
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
  • Ability to make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to make presentations to large groups
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; Cerner strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of clinical pharmacy program experience
  • Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties
