Staffing/Patient Placement Manager

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality. Responsible for operational and analytical support of nursing services staffing across all nursing service lines for both campuses. Provides leadership and operational oversight for patient placement functions, collaborating with unit leadership to develop staffing plans that ensure availability of staffed beds. Serves as a tactical resource to support patient throughput and staffing efficiency. Supports Director of Nursing/Staffing/Pt Placement with oversight of the Nursing Supervisors.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Must hold a current, valid Arizona or compact state RN license
  • Three years of RN experience, with two years of experience in the clinical specialty preferred
  • One year of leadership experience (e.g. charge nurse or other clinical leadership or management role)
  • Must be current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Provider certified
  • Knowledge in clinical service quality process, thorough knowledge of nursing practice and standards of care and ability to model excellence in patient care
  • Ability to evaluate appropriate care to ages from newborn through geriatric levels with age-related specific needs, per departmental requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related field
  • Three years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Membership of relevant professional organization preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
  • Experience using an acuity-based staffing software system, electronic bed board system and electronic staffing and scheduling system highly preferred
